Texture in the garden

I collect succulents, I love their colours and textures (and the fact that they are easy to propagate and hard to kill!)

Workshop time! objectLab at Sydney College of the Arts

Sydney College of the Arts is hosting a fabulous series of week long jewellery, glass and ceramics workshops from 2-6 July under the banner ObjectLab
I am teaching one of the workshops. It is called called 'unnatural jewellery' you can learn more about it here, however the basic premise is:
To explore and challenge approaches to making, focusing on the theme 'Unnatural Jewellery'. Participants will be encouraged to experiment with and deconstruct a variety of found materials whilst developing and working to a theme...
It will be lots of fun, come along and play!

Shades of grey

Sand and sea

Here are the Sand and sea earrings and neckpiece all completed and ready to send down to Pieces of Eight in Melbourne. I am quite happy with this new work and even after using wood predominantly in my exhibition works for the past few years I have developed some new ways of working with it in these pieces which has resulted in some subtle shifts in surface quality.

Temporal jewelling

Today the young studio assistant and I made some temporal stone jewels.
We collected, sorted, arranged... then swept it all away!

A day for purplish pinkness

Funny how different colours pop out at you on different days. Today it was all about noticing the purplish pinky things in the neighborhood...

Red and a little bit orange

Today things were red and a little bit orange. More parklife adventures were had and some new ear and neckwear finished for Pieces of Eight...

Green day

Yesterday was one of those funny old days when the pieces I was working on all seemed to match the frock I was wearing...
